3.1. Preparing Ingredients
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
 - Cook and shred the chicken if you haven’t already done so. You can use leftover rotisserie chicken for added convenience.
 - Dice the onions and bell peppers, and crush the Doritos chips.

3.2. Cooking Process
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, cheddar cheese, salsa, diced onions, diced bell peppers, taco seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
 - Spread half of the crushed Doritos chips evenly onto the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
 - Pour the chicken mixture over the layer of Doritos chips in the baking dish, spreading it out evenly.
 - Top the chicken mixture with the remaining crushed Doritos chips, ensuring an even layer.
 - Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
 - Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
 - Garnish with chopped cilantro, sliced jalapeños, avocado slices, or extra shredded cheese if desired.

4. Variations
- Swap out the chicken for ground beef or turkey for a different flavor profile.
 - Add canned black beans or corn kernels for added texture and flavor.
 - Experiment with different types of cheese such as Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a twist.
