BUTTER SWIM BISCUITS

April 28, 2024 by admin

Ingredients Needed

To whip up a batch of these mouthwatering biscuits, you’ll need:

  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Cold unsalted butter
  • Buttermilk
  • Additional melted butter for “swimming”

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Grate the cold butter into the dry ingredients and gently toss to coat.
  4. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently pat it into a 1-inch thickness.
  6. Using a biscuit cutter, cut out rounds of dough and place them in the prepared baking dish, nestling them snugly together.
  7. Pour the melted butter over the tops of the biscuits, ensuring they are all coated.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
