Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls

A. Preparing the ingredients

  1. Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. Core the cabbage and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  3. Rinse the rice under cold water to remove excess starch.

B. Cooking the dish

  1. In a large skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until it begins to wilt, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the rinsed rice, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, paprika, salt, and pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and cover the skillet or pot with a lid.
  6. Let the Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls simmer for 25-30 minutes, or until the rice is cooked through and the flavors have melded together.
